ABOUT DECOY BRANDS.COM

The Decoy Brands Archive is a joint effort between Darrell Hagar and Kevin Peel.  We hope to develop a digital record of decoy brands, building on the ground-breaking work of the members of the Potomac Decoy Collectors Association, which published Decoy “Brands” (edited by Robert T. Woollens in 2000).  The Archive will provide the decoy collecting community and water-fowling historians a user-friendly repository to record and maintain information on decoys and those who used them.  Branded decoys provide collectors a unique opportunity to further focus their collecting interests, but more importantly, they provide us a starting point to research the history of the decoy and the person(s) who used it.

This site was established with the assistance of the Upper Bay Decoy Collectors Club, Delmarva Decoy Collectors Association, and Potomac Decoy Collectors Association.  The clubs’ generous donations assisted in establishing this site.  We thank all the clubs for what they do to promote this truly American folk art.  Refer to our Resources Section for links / contact information for the supporters as well as our friends in the decoy collecting community.
